Also they say that teachers were opposed to the takeovers because of concerns with job security, not concerns for students. that's untrue. Teachers were opposed because they are dedicated to their students and they do not want to have to leave them and they don't want their students' lives to be disrupted by a total change in their school's staff. <br /><br />I also noted that Caldwell-Guthrie, where parents were VERY vocal about not wanting to be taken over by a charter, was listed as a good fit for Gestalt BECAUSE OF the high parent turnout at the meeting.
